2024 UEFA Champions League Final: The 2024 UEFA Champions League final will be the ultimate showdown of the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League, the 69th edition of the continent’s top club football competition organised by UEFA, and the 32nd edition since it was rebranded from the European Champion Clubs’ Cup to the UEFA Champions League. The match will take place at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on 1 June 2024. The final hosts were shifted back a year due to the delay and relocation of the 2020 final, so London will host the 2024 final instead.The winners will qualify to play against the winners of the 2023–24 UEFA Europa League in the 2024 UEFA Super Cup.
2024 UEFA Champions League Final Venue
The rebuilt Wembley Stadium will host its third UEFA Champions League final, after hosting the 2011 and 2013 editions. It will also be the eighth time that London hosts the final of Europe’s premier club competition, with the previous five finals at the old Wembley Stadium in 1963, 1968, 1971, 1978, and 1992.
England will equal the record of hosting nine European Cup finals, shared by Italy, Germany and Spain, with the 2003 final at Old Trafford in Manchester being the other one. The United Kingdom will have its thirteenth final, with Scotland hosting the 1960, 1976 and 2002 finals and Wales hosting the 2017 final. Wembley Stadium was also one of the venues for UEFA Euro 2020, staging eight matches including the semi-finals and final.
2024 UEFA Champions League Final Host
UEFA launched an open bidding process on 22 February 2019 to select the venues for the 2022 and 2023 UEFA Champions League finals. Associations interested in hosting had to submit their bid dossiers by 1 July 2019, after expressing their interest by 22 March 2019.
The Football Association bid with Wembley Stadium in London for the 2023 final, as a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original stadium’s opening in 1923. The UEFA Executive Committee chose Wembley Stadium as the host venue for the 2023 final at their meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 24 September 2019, along with the hosts for the 2021 and 2022 finals.
However, due to the delay and relocation of the 2020 final caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the UEFA Executive Committee announced on 17 June 2020 that London would host the 2024 final instead.
2024 UEFA Champions League Final Match
On 31 August 2023, the group stage draw in Monaco revealed the visual identity of the 2024 UEFA Champions League final. The final will have a “home” team (for administrative purposes) that will be decided by a separate draw after the quarter-final and semi-final draws.
