Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag Encourages Youth Development

Facundo Pellistri is still waiting for his chance to shine as a regular starter for Manchester United, but he has shown glimpses of his potential in some games.

The young Uruguayan, who impressed with his national team in the recent international break, has only started a few times for the Red Devils this season, including the 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League opener.

However, he has been a lively substitute for Manchester United, and he came on for Alejandro Garnacho, who scored a stunning goal, in the latest game. Erik ten Hag, the manager, wants Pellistri to follow Garnacho’s example and fight for a place in the starting line-up.

Erik ten Hag on Facundo Pellistri

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has urged Facundo Pellistri to step up his game and earn a regular spot in the team, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. The Uruguayan youngster will face Galatasaray, a tough Turkish side, in the Champions League tomorrow night.

“Pelli [Pellistri] has to go from being a bench player who makes a difference when he comes on, to being a starter who can make an impact from the beginning,” Ten Hag said. “He has to show his progress and how fast he can adapt.”

Facundo Pellistri deserves a chance to start for Manchester United, but it is not clear if Erik ten Hag will trust him in such a big game. Pellistri, however, seems confident and ready.

Manchester United’s Attack

Erik ten Hag will have some tough choices to make in his attack for the game against Galatasaray in Turkey, after his team scored some goals in the win over Everton on Sunday.

Anthony Martial, who scored his ninth goal for the club against Everton, looked like he was getting back to his best and he could be a good option if Rasmus Hojlund is not fully fit.

The right wing position is the most tricky one for the manager. He has confirmed that Antony is back in training, but the Brazilian has not been very consistent this season. On the other hand, Facundo Pellistri has been a spark of energy every time he plays. The Uruguayan deserves a chance to start for Manchester United.
