Copa America Schedule 2024: The 2024 Copa América is the 48th time they’re doing it. It’s a big soccer championship for South American teams. They’re having it in the United States and teaming up with a group called CONCACAF.
The United States already did this once in 2016. It’s happening from June 20 to July 14, 2024, and the winner will get to play in another big game in 2025. The team from Argentina won the last time.
They wanted to have the tournament in Ecuador because that’s the plan, but Ecuador said no in November 2022. So, now it’s happening in the United States. Peru and the United States wanted to do it.
There will be sixteen teams in the tournament, with ten from South America and six from CONCACAF. All the South American teams can join.
The six CONCACAF teams will come from a big contest called the 2023-24 CONCACAF Nations League. They’ll pick the four best teams from the top group and two from another round. The United States can’t join just because they’re the hosts, like they did last time.
